Winter is the most Yin Season, which means the tendency of the energy is to go down and in. For many people, this slows their metabolism and willingness to stay activity. In Qigong, we work with the environment and the seasons and can adjust our practice to accommodate these external influences. In the winter, the most Yin season of the year, their Yin Qi is naturally stronger and, in some people, lowers their Yang energy very often causing inactivity and lethargy. Also, in the winter, the organ that is associated with is the Kidneys. Emei Qigong has specific breathing and movements to strengthen our Kidney Qi (essence), as well as the other organs.
